About the studio
Filament is a motion studio working between design, code and film. We make identity systems that behave — fields that react, formations that morph, and frames that hold up on a cinema screen at 4am and on a phone at 240 pixels wide.
Practice
Most studios treat motion as the last step — a polish pass once the logo is signed off. We start there. A mark that has never been moved is a mark that has not been tested: you learn more about a brand in the two seconds it takes to assemble on screen than in a month of static comps.
So we build systems rather than deliverables. Every project leaves with the thing you asked for and the rules underneath it — the timing curves, the density, the way a field gathers before it springs into its next formation. Your team holds the system long after we have gone.
We work in the browser as often as in an edit suite. If it can be drawn at sixty frames a second on a laptop, it can be a living part of your product rather than a video you re-render every quarter.
If it only works once, it isn't a system.
Capabilities
Identity built to assemble, react and re-form. Logo behaviour, motion grammar, sound design, and the documentation that keeps it intact once it leaves the studio.
Launch films, title sequences and long-form work — board to final grade, directed and finished in-house.
Canvas, WebGL and shader work that runs live inside your product. Fields, particles, and data made physical at sixty frames a second.
Interface choreography for teams shipping weekly: transitions, empty states, and a timing spec your engineers can build straight from.
Principles
Four rules we have never had a good reason to break.
Nothing in nature starts at full speed. Our default curve has zero velocity at both ends — you feel it in every transition we ship, even when you cannot name it.
Colour, timing and density come from a single system. Change the gradient and the whole scene restyles itself; nothing is hand-tuned in a corner.
Every engagement ends with your team running the work without us. Files, curves, reasoning — all of it, in language a developer can act on.
If it does not survive a mid-range phone at thirty frames and a four-metre wall at full resolution, it is not finished yet.
